Goosebumps (2015)
If it hasn't been made perfectly clear yet, I am a Mom.
Yep, 5 little humans call me Mom.
That being said, I don't like kids movies. Not really. My favorite movie when I was 5 years old was, "The Crow". Seriously, it was! I wasn't really the type that liked movies designed specifically for kids because I found them boring, trite and more often than not, I felt like the movies were talking down to me. It's not that there weren't kids movies that were entertaining, sharp and treated kids like the intelligent beings that they are. I just didn't see them very often. I've brought those same feelings along with me into adulthood and I'm rather picky about what I let my kids watch. My husband and I try to choose movies that are entertaining for kids but would also appeal to adults. Those are tough to find but lucky for us, Goosebumps fit the bill perfectly.
I really thought this movie was going to suck. Even with the amazing Jack Black as part of the cast, I prepared myself for the worst. I will fully eat crow here and admit that this movie is SO much fun and totally worth the time I spend watching and re-watching with my kids. It doesn't even have to be reserved for just Halloween either. It's perfect for family movie night.
I'm also convinced that Jack Black is actually The Rock. Fo'reals.
