(*Just in case you want to LISTEN over watching it.*)
Years ago, when Netflix still sent out only DVD’s, my hubby and I rented Duncan Jones' “MOON” and we were totally surprised by the film. It was really freaking good and it is his most popular and most praised work yet. Since watching it all those years ago, we have on occasion mentioned how much we liked MOON and wish there was another thing like it. We had no idea that MUTE and MOON were a part of the same universe so to speak until we started watching MUTE. And we were not disappointed that night in our choice of Netflix Originals.
We really, really liked it.
You might be surprised to hear that as I was putting together this review, I found that I am in the minority of people who really liked MUTE. Although I can logically understand why people might not like this film, I found it to be well written, visually interesting and captivating and any minor issues that came up were of little consequence to me simply because the film is so involving and downright cool.
But maybe you should see it for yourself. I keep telling my brosef Daniel that he needs to see it too, just so I know I’m not crazy. I wonder what he will think of it.
And just so you know, I put this video on Instagram and actually apologized to Seyneb Selah (who plays Naadirah in this film) as I am fairly certain I mispronounced her name. And I feel bad for that. If I did say it wrong, let me know how to pronounce it in the comments.
